Les meilleurs cafés de Villeray

The night wasn’t restful enough and your caffeine dose is badly needed this morning? There is no shortage of coffee shops in the Villeray district! Here are our suggestions of the best coffees in Villeray where you can enjoy your favourite drink!

Café Oui mais non

Probably the cutest place in Villeray! In addition to a wonderful coffee and croissant, you can even buy accessories such as posters and mugs that all have one thing in common: humour! The place looks small from the outside, but you’ll never run out of room to work in. There’s even a basement and the bathroom is worth a visit, I promise!

Café Larue & Fils

Everyone in Villeray jumped for joy when Café Larue & Fils opened their second branch on Jarry Street. The place is really beautiful and super bright and they even roast their coffee on the spot. If you take the Jarry subway, it’s the perfect place to get your morning caffeine fix before work.

Café Perko

Café Perko is a must in Villeray for your long days of study or work. The long counter on the edge of the window allows you to work at the computer without feeling bad about taking up too much space and allowing you to have a small view outside to procrastinate just enough. There are plenty of food choices and the coffee is great! Anyway, this coffee’s got everything you need to feel good!

Café via Berri

The Café via Berri, located at the corner of Faillon and Berri streets, is self-proclaimed “family friendly”. So you can find high chairs and changing tables, which makes all young parents on parental leave desperate for caffeine. Their menu is also great, made up of seasonal, local and organic foods!

Chez l’Éditeur, café littéraire

Whether you work all day or read a book, you’ll feel very welcome at the literary café Chez l’Éditeur. It’s the front stage of the Quebec Amérique and Cardinal offices, so you’ll be able to find their books for sale there, and if you’re lucky, you might even see an author at work!

Café Ferlucci

We love Café Ferlucci for its unusual decor filled with beautiful retro finds, for its truly exceptional Italian coffee and for its warm and family atmosphere. Their Italian-inspired menu is filled with good food, mostly from local producers. And if you’re a Nutella lover, you absolutely have to taste their Nutellatte!

Café Saint-Henri

The very popular and well-known Café Saint-Henri has a branch at the Jean-Talon market, on the edge of the Villeray district. It’s the perfect place to stop for coffee before you go shopping at the market. Especially in the summer, when you can enjoy their beautiful terrace!

Soucoupe Café

In a slightly more remote and less well-served corner of the neighbourhood, you can find the charming neighbourhood café Soucoupe Café. It’s worth stopping by for its friendly welcome, delicious local coffee served in vintage mugs, delicious matcha macaroons, and really affordable prices!

Café Vito

Café Vito has been a must in the Villeray district since its opening in 2012. The atmosphere is warm and authentic Italian style! His espresso is well known and if you feel like having a snack, you’ll find a nice variety of delicious and cheap sandwiches!

With all these options, you are sure to find your coffee level in Villeray! And if restless nights add up too often to your taste, maybe you should think about changing your mattress before diving into a coffee barrel!
