How to choose the right bedframe: what to consider when buying a bedframe that is perfect for you

The bedframe is an essential accessory for your bed both in terms of comfort and to ensure durability of your mattress and your boxspring. Since there is a wide variety, here are some things to consider when choosing a bedframe to suit your needs.

BedFrame Types

There are four main types.

Regular: A regular bedframe is best if you only have a mattress, box spring and headboard to install.

Headboard and footboard bedframe: This bedframe is best for you if in addition to your mattress, box spring and your headboard, you also have have a footboard to install.

Low profile bedframe: a low profile bedframe is ideal if you want to reduce the height of your bed. You will notice a difference of about 3 inches compared to a regular bed frame.

Bedframe with integrated storage: Do you lack a bit of storage space in the bedroom? A basic bedframe with integrated storage will give you extra storage space.

The Type of Attachment

There are 2 main types of attachments: a snap, which allows easier assembly, and nuts and bolts that offer a more precise assembly.

Types of Feet

There are 5 main types of bedframe feet

Sliding metal (long): This type of foot is ideal for hardwood floors because it does not mark the floor. In addition, it is very solid.

Sliding metal (short): If you wish to lower the height of your bed, this is the foot type for you

Sliding plastic: Standard height.

Sliding adjustable: You can adjust the height of your bed frame to your taste with this type of foot. An excellent option if your floor is not level.

Wheels: This foot type is convenient since it moves well. Warning: this is not the best choice if your floor is not level.

Design

Let’s not forget that the bed frame is also a design element! A well-appointed bed frame adds style to the decor of your bedroom. It can be made of quilted fabric, wood or metal, among others. Choose the material that suits you and select the shades that are matched to your floor or your duvet cover!
